Obviously, don't install if you plan on hitting Virgil. The mod doesn't edit any script, just removes one from his alias. This mod removes an instance of default alias on hit script from Virgil that would move his quest to stage 91 (fail). It looks like the problem is somehow akin to the old Skyrim Brawl Bug, where some invisible area of effect spell on player is "hitting" Virgil, this turning him hostile. So in the end, I decided to cut his aggression completely. He would still aggro on me, though sometimes in different moments (sometimes before giving the serum, sometimes after). In the end, I tried every possible fix: getting out of power armor, leaving companions outside, I even stripped naked (in the middle of the Glowing Sea, mind you), and still nothing. People have suggested that using X-01 power armor can trigger his aggression, having synth/institute clothes, having companions, etc.
Upon searching the Internet, I found out that I am by no means the first person to encounter this problem. Yesterday I was doing the quest Virgil's cure, and I found a peculiar bug - I have found the cure, arrived at his cave, and as I was about to give it to him, I received a message that quest has failed, and Virgil, together with his robots instantly aggro'd on me.
